President Donald Trump is expected to announce a sweeping anti-gay bathroom bill this month, according to reports.
The Republican President is expected on May 14 to introduce the “Protecting the Family Act” that would require transgender students to use the bathroom of the gender with which they identify.
The bill, which Trump is set to sign, would be similar to an anti-discrimination law already in place in many states, including North Carolina.
The president is expected by the end of May to sign the bill, according the New York Times.
The Trump administration has already begun to work with Republican senators and members of Congress to develop the legislation.
